Janet "Jan" Gail (Farris) Traynor went home to her Lord and Savior on March 24, 2024, at the age of 86.
She was born on December 6, 1937 in Weed, NM. Jan was preceded in death by her parents: Wylma Llewelyn (Reed) Farris and Avery Thomas Farris; brother: Gene Farris; and husband: Avery H "Mike" Traynor.
In 1975, Jan married Mike Traynor and, together, they ran a cattle ranch in Mule Creek, NM. After Mike passed away, Jan remained on the ranch while pursuing new ventures, such as opening and running Victorian Moment in Silver City, NM, from 2001 to 2004. She lived in Mule Creek, NM for over 40 years.
Jan was a devoted Christian who enjoyed decorating Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cliff, NM for Christmas, Easter and other holidays. In recent years, Jan could be found working on a puzzle or coloring. She enjoyed visiting with family and was loved by all.
Jan was an exemplary mother and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity.
Jan is survived by her children: Donna Christopher (Mike), Rick Dunn (Kristi), and Cathy Jefferson (Ron); six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
We will remember Jan for her loving nature, her playfulness, and her occasional, endearing stubbornness.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels. A Memorial Service will be held at Baca's Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in Jan's name. www.alz.org
